This quote comes from 1 John 4:4 (ESV). It means that Christians have nothing to fear from the spiritual forces that are trying to bring them down. Our God is stronger and has already defeated the forces of darkness.

The Six and their followers have been chosen by the Light to fight against the dark forces of the enemy of mankind. They know that although the enemy is powerful and devious, their association with the Light makes them stronger.

Phil Baker was born and raised in the south-western suburbs of Sydney, Australia. He was brought up in a Christian family and attended church from a young age. A major theme of his books is spiritual warfare, the theory and practice. He explores what happens when the veil between the physical and the spiritual realities is lifted and a group of specially chosen and gifted teenagers clash with ‘the rulers, authorities, and the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms’ (Ephesians 6:12 NIV). They tend to clash with each other as well.
Phil worked in the Sydney CBD for five years after scarcely troubling the examiners in his final year of high school. To achieve his dream of a tertiary education he enrolled in night school and matriculated to Sydney University in 1971, winning a scholarship which bonded him to the Department of Education. He taught English and history to teenagers for the best part of thirty non-consecutive years. The gaps in the intervening years were filled with various entrepreneurial endeavours.

His love of writing came from those years of developing skills in his students, demonstrating structure and style by writing with them. It wasn’t until later in life that he began to write in earnest, however, completing his first novel in the
‘Six Against the Darkness’ series in 2016. He and his wife, Gail, live in Port Macquarie, New South Wales.
